To the expectations of everyone the National Basketball Association, (NBA), Board of Governors unanimously approved the sale of the Washington Wizards and Verizon Center to Caps owner Ted Leonsis's Lincoln Holdings, making Ted Leonsis 'the man" in Washington basketball.
The NBA Commissioner, David Stern, in a statement said, "We have long admired what Ted has done with the Washington Capitals in terms of sales, marketing and outreach in the community, and we look forward to him bringing those skills to bear for the Wizards."
Wizards fans are looking forward to an improved team, to playoff appearances and championships. Speaking as a fan, the hope is that Ted Leonsis is the man who will do his part to improve the team. Judging from his stewardship of the Washington Capitals, it isn't a stretch to hope that he will definitely try. Professional hockey is competitive within its game, but it is not as competitive as professional basketball. Mr. Leonsis faces a challenge. I believe he's up to the challenge.
