Just watched a new Internet sports video of the 2010 NFL predictions for the NFC East, and the Washington Redskins aren't predicted to win any more than eight games. See the video.
As for my thoughts on this season -- I am lukewarm on Washington Redskins first year coach Mike Shanahan, even though Dan Snyder's hiring of Shanahan, who coached the Broncos to two Super Bowl victories and seven playoff appearances during his 14-years in Denver was praised by the majority of fans, who welcomed the new coach to town with overwhelming enthusiasm. Shanahan, as the new coach has a new way of doing things, and is considered a tough, hard ass, and it takes even a genius a year or two to get a team to play well under his leadership, and Mike Shanahan has not shown that he's a genius.
Donovan McNabb is old, injury prone. And still, maybe he will be a plus to the team. He did well for the Eagles, for what now seem those many long seasons ago. Maybe McNabb and wide receiver Devin Thomas can make a few things happen. There is hope that running back Clinton Portis will win a few games.
Realistically, the Skins winning eight games will be a struggle.
First up, this Sunday night, prime time, the Cowboys vs the Skins at FedEx Field. Dallas, the defending NFC East champion, the Skins defending pride -- I hope there's still enough there in these dark days of Dan Snyder. Dallas is the favored to win on Sunday, to win that first game, and to win the most games of any team in the NFC East during the season, and to repeat as the winner of the division. Still, anything can happen during a Skins-Cowboy game, played in the Skins' stadium.
Go Skins. Beat Dallas.
